An introduction to Grand Riviera Princess Hotel

The Grand Riviera Princess looks more like an exclusive village than a hotel. Whitewashed buildings topped with thatched roofs are dotted around pools and gardens - all just footsteps from a sandy beach.

Step inside and you'll find a nest of junior, junior deluxe and platinum suites. The first two room types are luxurious and come with either two doubles or one king-size bed and a sofa, plus a private balcony. Add plasma TVs, minibars and air-conditioning and there's not much more you could wish for. But if there is, make sure you book a platinum suite. These come with lounge areas, even bigger plasma TVs and whirlpools on their balconies, too.

Move outside, meanwhile, and you'll find the heart of this place is the main swimming pool. It weaves through the centre of the village, passing curvy sun terraces with thatched pergolas and sunbeds. Factor in two pools with whirlpool baths right by the beach and it's a first-class pool scene.

Elsewhere, there's plenty more to see and do. For starters, there's the spa that comes complete with a sauna and a beauty salon, along with specialist massages and treatments. And then there's the entertainment. Live shows are the order of the day in the evening, while kids and teenagers both get their own clubs.

Wash it all down with a trip to one of the ten bars and finish the evening off with a meal at a restaurant. Be it buffet or a la carte, Mexican or Italian – there's nine venues to choose from.
