Sometimes you want the best of both worlds on holiday. Somewhere pin-drop peaceful, but within easy reach of the local attractions. Casa Areias pulls off both these beautifully. Sitting on the outskirts of pretty Porches, this traditional Portuguese hideaway is blissfully secluded. Yet it's close to both the local beaches and resort centre when you fancy some company. Set in gorgeous countryside, there's plenty of opportunity to explore the surrounding area with leisurely strolls.

Of course, once you clap eyes on this rural, yet refined retreat, you might have other ideas. And who could blame you? For a start, outside is your very own large private pool. Rectangular in shape, it's flanked by a tiled terrace, sun beds and a BBQ area. Plus, the views are pretty jaw-dropping, too.

Inside, you're greeted by whitewashed walls, beamed ceilings and tiled flooring. But although the villa is delightfully authentic, it's light and airy with a contemporary feel. The lounge has a large leather sofa and the dining room comfortably seats six. And the fully equipped kitchen has all the mod cons such as a washing machine. You'll also find one twin and three double rooms - two of which have ensuite bathrooms and the other has doors leading on to a balcony. Tempted? Well, we think this one's going to be a big hit.
