If you're looking for holidays in an awe-inspiring position, look no further. Fuencaliente ticks all the boxes and more.
This fab destination is on the southern tip of La Palma. It's an area that's rich in volcanic activity, with its name coming from the term 'hot spring', or 'warm fountain'. A fitting name due to La Palama's seven volcanoes. The surrounding areas are made up from pine forests, vineyards and banana plantations, which are a stark contrast to the ashy volcanic craters.
When it comes to holidays in Fuencaliente, there are plenty of sights on offer. After you've seen the magical volcanoes, check out some of the vineyards. Fuencaliente is the main wine producing area in all of La Palma. A combination of rich volcanic earth and warm climate creates the perfect environment. The main wine produced is 'Teneguia' wine, named after the last volcano to erupt in 1971.
The coastline of Fuencaliente has plenty of small coves and beaches. They're all covered with the characteristic black sand of the volcanic region. Head over to Guirre beach and check out the home fully working, traditional red and white striped lighthouse. Along the coastline you'll find the perfect environment for scuba-diving. Under the waters you'll find some incredible black coral and underground caverns.
If you're looking for first class accommodation on your summer holidays, then check out Hotel La Palma Princess And Spa. This 5* beauty is in a fantastic seafront position, with fantastic facilities.
