Villa Ventet

If you're looking for a villa that's blends wow-factor with country character, look no further than the Ventet. Sitting in attractive gardens, this place most definitely ticks all the right boxes. It's picturesque. It's pretty. And it's peaceful. But that's not to say you're in the middle of nowhere. In fact, ten minutes either way and you'll find yourself in lively Alcudia or traditional Pollensa, which have shops, bars and restaurants. And if you've come for Majorca's crumbly sands, head for Puerto Pollensa with a horseshoe-shaped slice that's as white as laundered sheets.

When you want to escape the crowds though, Ventet is perfect for lazing away the days. Start as you mean to go on by the large pool. With Roman steps, it's sunk into a lush lawn and is flanked by sun loungers and plenty of swishing trees for shade. There's also a lovely covered terrace attached to the villa, with a wood-beamed ceiling, terracotta-tiled floors and an outdoor sofa. And with an elegant dining table and chairs, it's perfect for al fresco meals.

Step inside and you'll find a warm and welcoming scene. Beamed ceilings, terracotta-tiled floors and traditional furnishings all add to its cosy ambience. And in contrast, the whitewashed walls let the light flood in. Downstairs is an open-plan design where you'll find a lounge with a wood burner and comfy sofas. A dining area that seats six people. And a contemporary kitchen with mod cons like dishwasher and washing machine.

There are also two restful bedrooms on the ground floor, one of which is a double. Make your way up the wooden steps and it takes you up to a private mezzanine twin bedroom that's screened off. A solid chunk of charm, you'll want to come back to this holiday hideout again and again.
