With great facilities and a seafront spot, the Playa Mar really stands out from the crowd. A contemporary looking complex, it's just paces from a promenade that's dotted with small sandy coves. And there's also a pine walk running along the bay, which takes you to the resort's main beach. That's if you can tear yourself away from what's on offer at the Playa Mar.

On the sand-free front, there's a lake-sized pool. Sitting in palm-crowded gardens, they've got all the accessories you'd expect, like sun loungers and parasols. Step inside the Playa Mar and you'll be just as impressed with the line-up. Take the apartments. Here, home-from-home comfort and traditional Spanish style goes hand in hand. Think whitewashed walls and tiled floors with roomy lounges and comfy beds. And they all come with a kitchenette and private balcony or terrace.

Add a buffet restaurant, evening entertainment and an unbeatable service into the mix and you have a hotel that's stands head and shoulders above the rest.
