The best bit is that your holiday doesn't stop in the parc. Far from it. Get your delicious baguettes and croissants from the local boulangerie, or bag a bunch of fruit and veg at the 'frutas y venduras' shop. Also, look out for local markets - they're packed with fresh local produce, and are an absolute must. It all adds a certain 'authenticity' to your holiday. Close

All parcs have helpful, experienced Thomson Al Fresco staff who are on hand to give you all the help you need - or to completely ignore them if you fancy (they won't mind). There's a great mix of parcs - from rural retreats to vibrant all-singing-all-dancing complexes with loads of organised activities and plenty of nightlife nearby. And most parcs even have satellite TV, so you won't miss your favourite sporting action. Whatever parc you fancy, there will always be a small shop, bar, takeaway and laundry facilities. For watery fun, there are pools galore - often with some fancy water complexes complete with slides and flumes for extra splash factor. And for those quieter moments, you'll find shelf-loads of brilliant books in every reception that you can help yourself to. It's what holidays are all about. Close

Sleeping up to 6 people, the Vivaldi is ideal if you're looking to get away with a group of friends or if you have a large family. It offers comfort by the cushion load and it's more spacious because it's longer, with not one, but two twin bedrooms cleverly positioned at one end.

With a Thomson Al Fresco holiday, your kids will have the time of their lives - however young or old they are. As well as all the nooks and crannies for them to explore on their own, they can even discover all the fun of our kidz clubs. Most parcs have their own clubs - and we always work in close collaboration to ensure a friendly, fun and safe environment for your children... More

Take your kids to play at one of the parc's fabulous crèches, like the one at Yelloh! Village Le Sérignan Plage. They're specially designed for small children with lots of toys and soft furnishings. But of course, no holiday would be complete without a serious drenching - and some of the parcs feature brilliant water complexes. Some of the best include Duinrell, Château Des Ormes, Yelloh! Village Les Mouettes, Le Conguel, Yelloh! Village Côte de Nacre and Parc de Fierbois.

Our clubs typically include splash games, detective games, treasure trails, bug hunts, pirate and egg hunts, rounders, sports days and arts and crafts. Exclusive Al Fresco Kidz can be found at the following parcs:

Reebok International Soccer School

GOOOAAALLL!

You'll find days full of skills, matches and fun at the Reebok International Soccer School. It's a premiership academy run by fully qualified FA coaches from Reebok, for boys and girls aged from 5 - 17... More

There are two 90-minute sessions costing just £25 for the lot, and graduates get a free Reebok player pack including a Reebok Academy t-shirt. There are sessions specific for 5-8 year olds, 9-12 year olds and 13-17 year olds, so you can get the right level of tuition for your kids. Sessions run from 19th July to 31st August 2008, but get in there quick - there's limited availability!

Toddler friendly parcs

Our parcs are fabulous for all kids, including toddlers. Not only are they easy to get to, but they have a wide range of facilities to make your holiday trouble-free. Going green

Being green and environmentally friendly is big news at the moment. But we've been quietly getting on with it for ages. We've done our best to make sure that our holidays have as little negative effect on the environment - and the local people - as possible... More

The very nature of our holidays makes it a more environmentally friendly experience. All of them are self-catering and we actively encourage you to go routing about the local markets for your dinner, lunch or breakfast. Just take a look at some of the things we do to help our planet:

Every parc has bottle re-cycling
Every holiday home has a re-cycle basket
25% of our light bulbs are already energy saving
Many taps are fitted with aerators which reduce flow by 50%
We're freezing out patio heaters in parcs in the north
We're looking at introducing solar-powered holiday homes in the south
